Congratulations are due to Dr. Asma Nusrat, F. Peyton Rous Professor of Experimental Pathology and Director of Experimental Pathology, and Dr. Charles Parkos, Carl V. Weller Professor and Chair of Pathology, on being named 2022 American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellows.
The Department of Pathology offers its congratulations to Dr. May Chan, Professor of Dermatopathology, on her appointment to the American Board of Pathology's Test Development and Advisory Committee beginning in 2023. "As an established subject matter expert in dermatopathology, the contributions of Dr. Chan will be highly valued," commented Bonnie Woodworth, ABP Communications Director. Chan, who also serves as the Program Director for the Dermatopathology Fellowship Program, commented, "With this appointment, I’ll be joining seven esteemed dermatopathologists in designing and writing questions for the dermpath board exam and for the dermpath portion of the anatomic pathology board exam.

The Department of Pathology's Clinical Operations Director Kristina Martin recently received the Scientific-Assembly Laboratory Administration award from the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) at the Joint Annual Meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan last month. The award recognizes outstanding professional achievement of an individual ASCLS member within his or her chosen area of academic, scientific, or vocational interest.
Effective July 1, 2022, Dr. Sriram Venneti, Professor of Pathology, was appointed as Scientific Research Director for the Chad Carr Pediatric Brain Tumor Center (CC-PBTC). Additionally, Dr. Carl Koschmann, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, was appointed as Clinical Research Director for the CC-PBTC.
