Congratulations to Dr. Rohit Mehra for being named to Hour Detroit’s 2024 Top Docs List for the second time. The physicians on this list represent those whose peers nominated them as the best in their field on a survey of physicians located in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, and Livingston counties. These nominees were then screened and selected by the Professional Research Services for inclusion as this year’s honorees.
Mehra, professor and director of the Michigan Center for Translational Pathology’s Esoteric Clinical Laboratory Services, and the Michigan Legacy Tissue Program was one of just six pathologists selected for this list. As a genitourinary pathologist, Dr. Mehra serves as a regional and national consultant and regularly reviews extramural consultations. In addition, he has a strong research program focused on the characterization of both uncommon and common renal tumors at the clinicopathologic and molecular level, with a prolific publication record.
Mehra is one of our “home-grown” stars in pathology having completed his residency in Anatomic Pathology at the University of Michigan in 2011 after first serving for five years as a research fellow and research investigator in the laboratory of Dr. Arul Chinnaiyan, Director of the Michigan Center for Translational Pathology (MCTP). He completed fellowship training in Genitourinary Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center under the Direction of Dr. Victor Reuter and then joined the faculty in the Department of Pathology at the University of Michigan in July 2012. Please join me in congratulating Dr. Rohit Mehra for this honor.
