Mayo Clinic Laboratories began offering Oxycodone and Metabolites, Serum (Mayo ID OXYDS) effective December 16, 2025. This test is used for monitoring therapeutic efficacy/compliance in serum specimens of patients who are prescribed oxycodone and/or oxymorphone and replaces Mayo test ID FOXFU forwarded to NMS Labs.
Collection Instructions: Collect specimen in a red top tube; do not use SST. Centrifuge, aliquot 1 mL (minimum 0.5 mL) of serum into a plastic vial, and refrigerate.

Oxycodone: 10-100 ng/mL
Noroxycodone: Metabolite of oxycodone
Oxymorphone: Metabolite of oxycodone; 1.0-8.0 ng/mL when used as sole therapy
Noroxymorphone: Metabolite of oxymorphone
Cutoff concentrations: Oxycodone: 1.0 ng/mL, Noroxycodone: 1.0 ng/mL, Oxymorphone: 1.0 ng/mL, Noroxymorphone: 1.0 ng/mL.
