Zinc is an essential element involved in a myriad of enzyme systems including wound healing, immune function, and fetal development. Zinc measurement are used to detect and monitor industrial, dietary, and accidental exposure to zinc.
< 6 months: 26 - 141 mcg/mL, < 12 months: 29 - 131 mcg/mL, < 2 years: 31 - 120 mcg/mL,
< 4 years: 29 - 115 mcg/mL, < 6 years: 48 - 119 mcg/mL, < 10 years: 48 - 129 mcg/mL
< 14 years: 25 - 148 mcg/mL, < 18 years: 46 - 130 mcg/mL, >= 18 years: 60 - 130

Specimen Requirements
Collect specimen in Royal blue top (trace element) tube with EDTA (K2). Specimen must be spun and aliquotted within 2 hours of collection. Aliquot into acid washed, metal free screw capped aliquot tube and refrigerate. (Tube with RBC's is no longer required to be sent as well)
