Specimen Requirements
Collection Instructions

Collect specimen in lavender top tube from a fasting patient. Following collection place Vacutainer® tube on ice, then centrifuge, aliquot plasma into a plastic vial, and freeze. Pts should avoid taking antacids or any medication that affect intestinal motility for at least 48 hours prior to collection.

Special Handling

Fasting specimen. Place on ice immediately.

Contraindications
This test should not be requested on patients who have recently received radioactive material.
