    Specimen Requirements
    Collection Instructions

    Collect specimen in SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic container and refrigerate. The drug Rasburicase is a recombinant form of an enzyme that degrades uric acid. A uric acid sample from a patient taking Rasburicase should be collected and transported on ice to prevent degradation of uric acid in the sample.
