Test Overview
Test Methodology

The coding exons and associated, adjacent consensus splice sites of the TP53 gene are amplified using specific primers, and bidirectionally sequenced using a fluorescent method.

Test Usage

Analysis for the presence of TP53 (OMIM: 191170) mutations in patients with a phenotype consistent with Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) (OMIM:151623) or Li-Fraumeni-like syndrome (LFL) .

Reference Range *

Interpretive report provided.

Test Limitations

This assay will not detect large deletions in the TP53 gene or intronic mutations outside the region sequenced in the TP53 gene.
