    Collect blood in a lavender (EDTA) top tube. Leave as whole blood and send to Specimen Processing room temp. Blood is stable up to a week before being received by U Penn. If storing prior to shipment, store in the refrigerator.

    Normal Volume

    Adults: 2 lav top tubes with 3-4 mL; Infants 2 lav top tubes with 2-3 mL

    Minimum Volume

    Adults: 4 mL ; Infants 3 mL whole blood
