Test Overview
Rapid Fluorescent Focus Inhibition Test (RFFIT)
This assay is designed to measure anti-rabies glycoprotein antibodies induced by rabies vaccination only; it should not be used as a tool to assess natural exposure to rabies virus.
Reportable range is 0.1 - 15.0 IU/mL. In humans a result of 0.5 IU/mL or higher is considered an acceptable response to rabies vaccination according to the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines; see WHO and Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices documents for additional guidance.
* Reference ranges may change over time. Please refer to the original patient report when evaluating results.
