Nitrazine-pH indicator dye

Test Usage

Performed at authorized locations by point of care operators. To differentiate gastric from intestinal aspirates in the placement and maintenance of gastric or intestinal tubes when used in addition to four non-radiologic verification methods.

    Flush tube with 3 mL of air before aspirating gastric or intestinal specimen. Withdraw sufficient volume to ensure that any feeding left in the tube lumen does not affect pH.
