Test Usage

This test is indicated for assessing platelet ultra-structural abnormalities in congenital and acquired platelet disorders.

Specimen Requirements

Collection Offsite

Collect specimen in yellow top (ACD) solution A or B tube. Send intact specimen at room temperature within 24 hours of collection. Specimens are accepted Monday through Wednesday only and must be received by performing laboratory within 72 hours of collection (specimen must be received by MLabs by 6:00 pm). Include bleeding clinical history, recent PT, PTT, CBC, and other coagulation study results if available.
