In immunocompromised patients Parvovirus B19 manifests itself as acute or chronic hematological disorders. It can cause persistent anemia, sometimes associated with leukopenia and thrombocytopenia. Pediatric transplant patients are at risk for chronic Parvovirus B19 infections which can be associated with lung and/or renal disorders. Test sent to Viracor Eurofins.
