Specimen Requirements

Collection Instructions

Patient should not be on any medications that affect insulin levels, if possible for 48 hrs prior to collection. Patient should be fasting 10 hours before collection. Patient may drink plain water, no other liquid is acceptable.
Collect specimen in a pre-chilled Z tube. Spin immediately and aliquot plasma into a screw capped tube. Send to Specimen Processing frozen.
