Indirect Immunofluorescence
Detection of circulating anti-neutrophil antibodies in suspected cases of autoimmune neutropenia. The work-up of individuals having febrile, nonhemolytic transfusion reactions.
Negative (reported as positive or negative).

No distinction can be made between autoantibodies and alloantibodies. This test is not useful for diagnosis of neutropenia caused by marrow suppression by drugs or tumors.

Specimen Requirements
Collect specimen in a red top tube; do not use SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate or freeze.
