Test Usage

This test detects and identifies bacteria, DNA and RNA viruses, fungi, and parasites in cerebrospinal fluid using next generation sequencing.

No pathogenic DNA virus detected.
No pathogenic RNA virus detected.
No pathogenic parasite detected.
No pathogenic bacterium detected.
No pathogenic fungus detected.

Collection Instructions

Aliquot CSF from 2, 3 or 4 (NO tube 1 aliquots) into a sterile screw capped plastic tube. Send to Specimen Processing frozen. Indicate on the aliquot label which tube was used to make the aliquot.

Special Handling

Do not use tube #1 to make the aliquot. Do not use centrifuged or heat inactivated specimens
