High levels of antibodies may persist for some years after infection. False-positive reactions have been reported in patients with other bacterial or rickettsial infections.

- Legionnaires' Disease Antibody
- Legionella pneumophila Antibody
- LEGIONELLA IgM ANTIBODY, IFA
Collect specimen in SST or red top tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate (preferred) or freeze. A paired acute and convalescent (>21 days after onset of fever) sera are recommended; label specimens appropriately.
Test sent to Mayo Medical Laboratories. University of Michigan registered patient specimens sent to Michigan Department of Community Health.
