Specimen Requirements
Collection Instructions
Collect specimen in an SST tube. Spin and separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection. Aliquot into a screw capped plastic tube and send to Specimen Processing refrigerated.
Special Handling
SST must be spun and aliquoted within 2 hours of collection to remove serum from the cells.

Storage Temperature
Refrigerated; frozen also acceptable
Rejection Criteria
Any other specimen than serum, plasma is not acceptable. Hemolyzed or severely lipemic specimens are also not acceptable.
