If requesting IHC stains as part of a consultation, please submit the request using the MLabs Anatomic Pathology Consultation requisition: check the box Pathology Consultation and the box Special Stain(s) Requested and indicate the specific stain(s) that are needed. Contact the MLabs Client Services Center at 800-862-7284 for any special instructions.

Additional Information

Test includes pathologist interpretation of results billed as a separate additional charge or billed to the client as a global fee; there is no pro fee for tech only (TO) cases. Generally, immunohistochemistry/immunoperoxidase procedures serve as an adjunct to surgical histopathology to identify the origin or type of neoplasm, or to detect specific antigens in normal tissues at the light microscope or electron microscope levels.
