Fluorescence Enzyme Immunoassay (FEIA)
Quantitation of IgE in serum is useful as an initial screening test for allergic disease.
0 - 150 kU/L
Normal IgE levels do not rule out the presence of allergic disease.
- Allergy Testing, Total IgE
- Immunoglobin E, Total
Collect specimen in SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate. Sample may be stored refrigerated up to 3 days.
Note that Immunoglobulin E will not be determined when the "Immunoglobulin Quantitation" is requested; IgE must be requested individually.
