Test Usage
Useful in the diagnosis of early pregnancy, diagnosis of choriocarcinoma, tumor marker, embryonal cell carcinomas
Reference Range *
Normal male and non pregnant female =/< 5 mIU/mL. Positive pregnancy 25 mIU/mL and above. Post-menopausal women <12 mlU/mL. Tumor marker less than 5 mIU/mL.
Test Limitations
Specimens stored greater than 8 hours should not be used for testing.

Specimen Requirements
Collection Instructions
Collect specimen in a red top or SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate up to 48 hours or freeze for longer storage.
