Test Overview
ELISA
The presence of human anti-mouse antibody (HAMA) has been associated with patients receiving injections of murine monoclonal antibody (MAb) for diagnostics and/or theraputic purposes. HAMA produced in response to monoclonal antibody therapy may interfere with theraputic efficacy. Therefore, it is recommended that baseline HAMA levels are determined prior to the initiation of therapy with murine-derived proteins.
<74 ng/mL
* Reference ranges may change over time. Please refer to the original patient report when evaluating results.
HAMA may be detected in a small percentage of the general population, and usually represent heterophilic antibodies or dietary exposure to murine proteins.
