Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue block; or 4 unstained glass, "positively charged" slides with 4-microns formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue with associated H&E stained slide. Slides must be dried before shipping (air dry overnight or dry in 60 degree C oven for 20 minutes). Both blocks and slides should be stored at room temperature.
Test includes pathologist interpretation of results billed as a separate additional charge or billed to the client as a global fee. Reported as Negative (no expression), Positive (over-expression), or Borderline. Borderline cases should be followed up with HER-2/neu by FISH when clinically indicated.
