Specimen Requirements
Collect specimen in an SST, red top, or green top tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum or plasma into a plastic vial and refrigerate.
Additional Information
Test includes Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBSAG), Hepatitis B Core Antibody IgM (HBCMA), Hepatitis A Antibody, IgM (AHAV), and Hepatitis C Antibody (HCAB). Any reactive anti-HCV result will reflex to a confirmatory Hepatitis C Virus RNA by PCR, Quantitative (QHCV) assay to determine if there is ongoing infection. By ordering this test the clinician acknowledges that additional reflex testing will be performed and billed at a separate additional charge if indicated.
