Test Overview
Test Methodology

The coding exons and flanking splice sites of the GDI1 gene are amplified using specific primers, and bidirectionally sequenced using a fluorescent method.

Test Usage

Analysis for the presence of GDI1 (OMIM:300104) mutations in patients with a phenotype consistent with X-linked non-syndromic mental retardation (OMIM:300849) that is moderate to severe in males and mild in females.

Reference Range *

Interpretive report provided.

Test Limitations

This assay will not detect large deletions in the GDI1 gene or intronic mutations outside the region sequenced in the GDI1 gene.
