Specimen Requirements
Collect specimen in an SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate.
Red top or Green top (sodium or lithium heparin) tube. [11/09]

Additional Information
GGTP is elevated, along with alkaline phosphatase, in cholestatic disease and metastatic cancer of the liver. GGTP levels are generally normal in bone diseases. GGTP levels are increased with chronic excessive alcohol intake, anticonvulsant therapy, and with chemotherapy.
