Test Usage
Monitoring fluconazole therapy to guide dose adjustment and ensure adequate coverage while avoiding high concentrations associated with toxicity, especially in patients who have severely compromised renal function, for those who are undergoing dialysis, or for those where absorption may be impacted. Routine drug monitoring is not indicated in most patients.

Specimen Requirements
Collection Instructions
Collect specimen in a red top tube; do not use SST. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial within 24 hours of collection and freeze. EDTA plasma is also acceptable.

1 mL serum

0.5 mL serum
Rejection Criteria
SST tube not acceptable.
