Test Usage

Eculizumab is monoclonal antibody targeting complement component 5 (C5) and is used to treat complement-mediated diseases including transplant associate thrombotic microangiopathy (TA-TMA). Patients treated with eculizumab exhibit highly variable serum levels and therefore accurate monitoring is required for dosing decisions and to achieve target eculizumab trough levels

    Collect specimen in a red top tube (NO SST!). Allow specimen to clot for a minimum of 60 minutes and spin. Aliquot into a screw capped plastic tube and send to Specimen Processing frozen
