Specimen Requirements
Collection
Collect specimen in a red top or SST tube. Spin and aliquot into a screw capped plastic container. Sned to Specimen Processing refrigerated.
Normal Volume
0.5 mL serum for up to 5 allergens
Minimum Volume
For 1 allergen: 0.3 mL; For more than 1 allergen: (0.05 mL x number of allergens) + 0.25 mL dead space
Storage Temperature
Refrigerated preferred, frozen acceptable
