Collection Instructions

Collect specimen in blue top (citrate) tube. Centrifuge, aliquot plasma into a plastic vial, and freeze the specimen within 2 hours of collection. Transport frozen specimen on dry ice. Proper collection and handling of specimens is critical; see Coagulation tab of the handbook to ensure that the proper technique is used.

Special Handling

Citrated plasma samples should be collected by double centrifugation. Stable at room temp for 8 hours.
