Test Usage

Establishing a diagnosis of lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase deficiency. Evaluating the extent of metabolic disturbance by bile stasis or liver disease.

Reference Range *

60 - 80 % of total cholesterol. Reference values have not been established for patients that are <16

Requires 12-14 hour fast, and no alcohol 24 hours before specimen is drawn. Collect specimen in red top or SST tube. Spin and aliquot into a screw capped plastic tube. Send to Specimen Processing refrigerated
