Specimen Requirements
Collect blood in a red top or SST tube from a fasting patient (12 hour fast). Patient should not consume any alcohol for 24 hours prior to collection of specimen. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into plastic vial and freeze within 1 hour of collection. Protect specimen from light.
Fasting specimen. Protect specimen from light. Must arrive in lab or aliquot and freeze within 1 hour.
