Test Usage

To screen patients for CRE and determine when Contact Precautions is needed. THIS TEST REQUIRES APPROVAL FROM INFECTION PREVENTION.

Reference Range

No Carbapenem Resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE) isolated.

* Reference ranges may change over time. Please refer to the original patient report when evaluating results.

Specimen Requirements

Collection Instructions

Collect rectal swab. Store at room temperature and send within 48 hours of collection. Indicate CRE screen on requisition.
