Reference Range *
1-11 years: 8.4 - 10.4 mg/dL, 12-150 years: 8.6 - 10.3 mg/dL.
Calcium values less than 6.0 mg/dL and greater than 14.0 mg/dL are considered critical.

Specimen Requirements
Collection Instructions
Collect specimen in an SST tube. Centrifuge within 2 hours, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate at 2-8C for 2 days. For long term storage, freeze at -20C for 6 months.
Alternate Specimen
Red top or Green top (sodium or lithium heparin) tube. [rev 11/09]
