Collect blood in a red top or green top tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum or plasma into a plastic vial and refrigerate.
Alternate Specimen
Serum or heparinized plasma preferred; other specimens can also be analyzed.

Butabarbital (Butisol) is an intermediate-acting barbiturate with sedative-hypnotic activity.
