    Random or timed (2 hour) urine collections are acceptable
    Specimen collection in a plain sterile container (No Preservatives)
    Refrigerate specimen during and after collection at 2-8C. Send entire collection or 5 mL aliquot: record total volume on requisition.

    Normal Volume

    5 mL aliquot of 2 hour urine collection

    Minimum Volume

    1 mL aliquot of 2 hour urine collection

    Rejection Criteria
    Specimens collected with Acid Preservative are not acceptable. Diapers, sections of diapers, swabs or any other absorbent material will not be accepted as a collection container for urine.
