Specimen Requirements

Collection Offsite

Collect specimen in a lavender top tube; place on ice immediately after collection. Keep specimen cold and do not remove stopper until ready to aliquot. Do not freeze. Centrifuge, aliquot plasma into a plastic tube and freeze within 30 minutes of collection. Micro containers (samplettes) and heal sticks are not acceptable specimens. Grossly lipemic, hemolyzed and/or icteric samples are not acceptable for analysis.
