Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
Determining the specific proteotype for prognosis and genetic counseling for patients with alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency.
Negative for S and Z phenotype (Non S Non Z).

- A1AT Genotype
- A-1AT Genotype
- Anti Trypsin Genotype
- Reflex Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Phenotype
- Pi Typing
- Protease Inhibitor Allo Typing

Collect specimen in a red top or SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial and refrigerate.
Test includes Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Proteotype and Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Serum. If the mass spectrometry proteotype and quantitative serum level are discordant, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Phenotyping (A1APR) will be performed at an additional charge. By ordering this test the clinician acknowledges that additional reflex testing will be performed and billed at a separate additional charge if indicated. Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Phenotyping (A1AP) (Mayo A1APP) is also available individually. Test sent to Mayo Medical Laboratories.
