    Collect Peritoneal Fluid in a leak-proof container. If received in a sterile cup, pass to Microbiology to be aliquotted using sterile technique. Centrifuge specimen at room temperature, transfer 0.5 mL peritoneal fluid to plastic vial and ship frozen.
