Specimen Requirements
Collect specimen in a red top tube; do not use SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot serum into a plastic vial within 2 hours of collection and refrigerate (preferred) or freeze. Serum for a peak level should be drawn 30 minutes after completion of infusion of an intravenous dose or 1 - 2 hours after an oral dose; trough specimens should be drawn immediately prior to next scheduled dose.
