The following changes will be made to the Pediatric Autoimmune Encephalopathy/CNS Disorder Evaluation, CSF, assay performed by Mayo Clinic Laboratories effective October 13, 2026:

 

The following tests will be added to the panel:

  • Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor-5 (mGluR5) IgG, Tissue Immunofluorescence, Spinal Fluid (GL5IC)
  • Gamma-Amino Butyric Acid Type A (GABA-A) Receptor Antibody, Cell-Binding Assay, Spinal Fluid (GBACC)

 

The following tests will be added to the reflex algorithm:

  • Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor-5 (mGluR5) IgG, Cell Based Assay, Spinal Fluid (GL5CC)
  • Metabotropic Glutamate Receptor-5 (mGluR5) IgG, Tissue Immunofluorescence Titer, Spinal Fluid (GL5TC)
