Reference Laboratory: Mayo COKEP
Mayo Clinic Laboratories will begin offering Cocaine and Metabolites, Plasma, effective September 29, 2026. This test will replace Cocaine Analysis, Whole Blood (order code FCOKE and reflex FCOKR) referred to Medtox Laboratories.
Collection Instructions: Collect specimen in a gray top (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate) tube; plasma separator tubes (PST) are not acceptable. Centrifuge at 4 degrees C, aliquot 1 mL (minimum 0.5 mL) of plasma into a plastic vial within 2 hours of collection, and freeze.
Reference Range: Negative.
