Due to scheduled annual maintenance in the BSL-3 Mycobacteriology Laboratory, processing of all specimens for AFB smear and culture will be delayed from Wednesday, July 8 through the evening of Friday, July 10. Specimens received during this period will be held and processed on Saturday morning, July 11.
If there is an urgent clinical need for an AFB smear result on Wednesday (7/8) or Thursday (7/9), please contact MLabs Client Services at 800-862-7284. We can assist in coordinating testing through the State Health Department, with results anticipated by Friday or Saturday.
