New test ZNT8 Antibodies referred to Esoterix Endocrinology is available effective June 25, 2026, and will replace Mayo test ID EZNT8 Zinc Transporter 8 (ZnT8) Antibody, Serum (order code EZNT8) which will become obsolete effective July 16, 2026. This test detects zinc transporter 8 autoantibodies (ZnT8), an autoimmune diabetes marker that is instrumental in the diagnosis of new-onset type 1 diabetes.
Collection Instructions: Collect specimen in a red top (preferred) or SST tube. Centrifuge, aliquot 0.5 mL (minimum 0.2 mL) of serum into a plastic vial within 45 minutes of collection, and refrigerate.
Reference Range: All ages: less than 15: Negative; greater than or equal to 15: Positive.
