Effective April 9, 2026, Michigan Medicine Laboratories Sendout Lab is offering a new test, Insulin, Free and Total, that will be performed by Mayo Clinic Laboratories. MLabs also offers an in-house Insulin assay (order code INS) if applicable.

 

Collection Instructions:  Fasting: 8 hours required; for 12 hours prior to collection, do not take any supplements containing vitamin B7.

Collect specimen in an SST or red top tube. Spin and aliquot within 2 hours of collection. Send to Specimen Processing refrigerated.
