Effective February 25, 2026, Michigan Medicine Laboratories Coagulation Laboratory is going live with a new test panel, vonWillebrand Disease Monitoring and reflex test, Heterophile Blocking Tube Treatment reflex for vonWillebrand Factor GPIbM Activity. VW8FM is composed of components of tests that are already performed in the coagulation laboratory; vonWillebrand Factor GPIbM Activity and Factor 8 Assay. Please note that the refelxt test, VWGPH, is a non-orderable reflex test that will only be ordered by laboratory staff to allow for the rapid and simple elimination of false positive heterophilic antibody in plasma or serum for sandwich immunoassays.
