Effective February 4, 2026, Michigan Medicine Laboratories Sendout Lab built additional orderable Viracor tests for CMV Resistance to allow for ease of ordering the appropriate test or panel.  The above new test codes will be available along with current test code VCMR4 CMV Resistance: Maribavir, Ganciclovir, Foscarnet, Cidofovir (Viracor Eurofins 33126). Human Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infections are a major cause of morbidity and mortality among immunocompromised patients. CMV Resistance testing is used to confirm the occurrence of drug resistance to a variety of anti-CMV drugs.
