Effective December 16, 2025, MLabs Chemistry Laboratory will transition from the current Lipoprotein A (Lp(a)) mass assay (Order code: LPA) to the Lipoprotein (a) Gen.2 assay, which reports results in nanomoles per liter (nmol/L) instead of milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) as it helps mitigate the influence of particle size differences in the measurement of Lp(a). Collect sample in SST tube (Green top (heparin) tube is also acceptable).
