Effective January 26, 2023, Mayo Clinic Laboratories will replace test ID ECHNO with test ID ECHNG. This test is used for detection of antibodies to Echinococcus species, including Echinococcus multilocularis and Echinococcus granulosus.

 

Collection Instructions: Collect specimen in an SST (preferred) or red top tube. Centrifuge, aliquot 0.5 mL (minimum 0.4 mL) of serum into a plastic vial and freeze (preferred) or refrigerate up to 5 days.
