Effective February 15, 2022, the MLabs Toxicology laboratory will revise the blood lead reference value from 5 mcg/dL to 3.5 mcg/dL based on recent guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  CDC communication regarding this change can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/nceh/lead/news/cdc-updates-blood-lead-reference-value.html.  There will be no change to the critical value cut off level.  There will be no changes to specimen collection and handling requirements, test methodology, fee codes, or pricing for this assay.
