Effective November 18, 2021, MLabs is passing along recall information from the manufacturer Becton Dickinson (BD) that ACD-A solution vacutainers are being recalled for lot 0316293 expiration: 11/30/2022. The manufacturer is asking that these vacutainers be discarded. These tubes may underfill or exhibit draw volumes below labeled product claims. Underfilling of tubes may result an incorrect additive-to-blood ratio, which could cause erroneous test results that could lead to improper diagnosis and/or treatment. BD also states that it has received no reports of serious injuries or deaths associated with this problem.
